starting chemo

Tomorrow I start chemo at 8 a.m. It feels great to have the decisions made. They will not stop me from takng vitamins, so more research will need to be done on that. no time for more now - off to rehearsal for cabaret performance in two weeks.

  1. Glad to hear this, Colleen. I knew you were starting chemo today and you were the first thing on my mind when I woke up. Hope you enjoyed your rehearsal last night and I wish you peace today. Much love, C

  2. What are you singing? When is the show? Would that I could time my visit....

  3. Good to be moving forward. The cure is brutal, but their record is good.

  4. I'm thinking of you. Chemo is, to put it mildly, no fun, though the anti-emetics do help. Sorry if this is TMI, but if your docs recommend it, be sure to take the laxative or stool softener even if you're not eating much (trust me). I took neulasta too; a little bone pain sure beats loss of immunity. It's great that you have such a positive, fighting attitude, but I echo what someone else said - you don't have to be a superwoman all the time. There's a lot of pressure from very well meaning people (and yourself) to "stay positive." But be sure to give yourself, and others around you, permission to feel bad, tired, sad, when the time comes. Just because you feel bad one day, doesn't mean you won't get right back up the next and keep fighting.
